I only use twitter to stay in touch with fellow marketers and people that I like. Saying that, it has a lot to do with my followers remains at around the 150 range and has for many moons.
When someone starts following me I immediately check to see how many posts they do a day and how often they contain content that may be relevant to myself.
If they are what I call spammers, that send out emails while when they should be asleep, and they are all about some new gadget for sale. I do not follow them, and they usually go away after a few days or weeks.
I am a blogger and an affiliate marketer but some affiliates seem to think that they have to try and sell everything and anything, 24 hours a day.
I have never received any income directly from Twitter tweets, nor have I ever wanted to.
I use it to keep up on things that people are doing that interest me, and occasionally I get someone new following my blog.
