Blogrush Gets the Bums Rush

February 3rd, 2008 Posted by Chanya

I finally removed the Blogrush widget from my sidebar. Yes I know I’m late to the party.

I’d been thinking of doing this for some time but held out hope that one day I’d wake up and suddenly, the site would receive lots of Blogrush traffic.

Not really.

Nonetheless, let’s take a look at my stats. Since September 2007 I earned 12,791 credits and had my blog posts appear in Blogrush widgets on other blogs a total of 63,079 times. The result?

21 readers.

That means my post titles appeared in other Blogrush widgets 3,003 times before attracting 1 reader. Yes, 3,003 syndications = 1 reader.

I just checked the Blogrush site and there’s nothing new out there. They’ve not made any updates in over 3 months.

So I’d like to end this, my last Blogrush post, with a little nostalgia. Remember the Carol Burnett show? She used to end each show with this song - I’ve changed the words slightly to fit the event:

I’m so sad we had this time together,

No real traffic, guess the “pros” were wrong,

Seems we just got started and before you know it,

Your run’s over, time to Zoom along.”

Congrats on “Flushing the Rush”. As I’ve said before, I got more traffic from putting them down than I ever did from their useless, spammy, widget.

I loved the Carol Burnett show and had to giggle at your version of her parting song. I think others should know about your stats from using this widget so I’m stumbling you.

Teeni: Thanks so much! Hopefully people will take heed and get rid of the widget if it’s not sending traffic their way.
