This is Not My Beautiful Life

I have a unique first name. As such, I get emails from people thinking I’m someone else. Additionally, this site receives search traffic from people looking for “Chanya.” Therefore, I thought I’d start the year by setting the record straight about “Chanya.”

This Chanya is not:

• The 21 year old Canadian Chanya on MySpace.com with 410 friends.
• The 24 year old Chanya “The Body” in Miami Beach, Florida.
• The Chanya from MyChanya.com who’s a personal trainer and the founder of Chanya Pro Fitness. Looking at her picture though I definitely need to hire her. Like yesterday.
• The Chanya from Chanya’s Traditional Thai Massage, a massage parlor in Pai. No happy endings here. Or at least, not in the massage parlor . . . the one that I don’t own . . . because that’s not me.
• The 3 Chanya’s that have travel blogs.
• The Chanya that owns Chanya’s Gems. Although if you are that Chanya, can I get a family discount?
• And lastly, no, the tough but sweet prostitute Chanya from the book Bangkok Tattoo was not based on me. I can, however, be tough but sweet.

This Chanya is in fact:

• A horrible singer.
• A part-time jewelry maker.
• A fairly cynical but often charitable (there’s the tough but sweet) female born and raised in North Carolina.
• Easily distracted.
• Embarrassed that she just found out this wasn’t a do-follow site. Sorry, I just installed the LinkLuv plugin.
• A lover of all things Radiohead.
• Immensely appreciative of the friends she’s made in the blogosphere!
