Vic Franqui: Blog Deprogrammer
December 28th, 2007 Posted by ChanyaSuffice it to say, Vic Franqui represents a new voice in blogging. He’s the co-founder of Blogging Zoom which was developed with Courtney Tuttle (see more on Court below) and the brains behind Blogger Unleashed, a relatively new blog that’s gaining in popularity because of Vic’s unique style, wit, and candor.
I like to refer to Vic as a “Blog Deprogrammer” or “The UnBlogger” because he’s big on telling his readers to disregard the crap (actually, he uses stronger words) that the A-list bloggers espouse. To support my theory, take a look at the 5 stages of deprogramming, provided by Sylvia Buford, a deprogramming expert:
- Discredit the figure of authority: the teachings of the cult leader(s) is brought into question.
- Present contradictions: ideology vs. reality is presented.
- The breaking point: the subject begins to listen to the deprogrammer; reality begins to take precedence over ideology.
- Self-expression: the subject begins to open up and to voice some of his own gripes against the cult/cult leader.
- Identification and transference: the subject begins to identify with the deprogrammer(s).
Now, doesn’t this describe what Vic is doing at his Blogger Unleashed site?
I also love the “colorful” manner in which he presents his theories. In fact, he’s the Lenny Bruce of the blogosphere (that’s “Sarah Silverman” for you young folks). He’s raw, unfiltered, uncensored, and completely honest in his teachings. His Blogger Unleashed site is the new black in the “make money online” niche.
There’s so much valuable information on his site that I print almost every one of his articles and highlight the key points. And not just the articles; I also print the responses he leaves in the comments section. It’s that good.
Now I’m not gonna’ sugarcoat the fact that he uses profanity when he writes. He uses it a lot and he’s not afraid to throw in a few juicy words when responding to commenters. Even so, he’s always teaching his readers. There’s wisdom in his writings, he uses real world examples, and I pity the fool that doeesn’t check him out. Before reading Vic’s blog I knew almost nothing about SEO and SERPs. Heck, I didn’t even know what SERP meant.
It’s thanks to Vic and some of his posse (”The Grizz” of Make Money Online for Beginners and Vic’s Blogging Zoom partner Courtney Tuttle of Court’s Internet Marketing School), that I not only know what the term means and why it’s important, I’m now looking for pre-owned domains with the right keyword title so I can start a niche blog. When I find the right one you better believe I’ll be using one of Court’s 48 SEO Wordpress Themes and applying what I’ve learned from Vic at Blogger Unleashed.
I highly recommend that you take a look at Vic’s site. When done, come back and tell me what you think.
Hey, looks like “theloveofbeer.com” will be available soon. Hmmn . . . .

Chanya just the fact that you place me in the company Lenny Bruce honors me. I hope that in the madness and grammar horrors you find one great tip that takes you one step closer to achieving your goals in blogging.
To your success
Vic
Vic: I’ve learned more than one tip but here’s the one I’ve started using: before reading your blog I wasn’t doing
muchanything with keywords. Heck, I never even thought about them when writing my articles. Because of your teachings, I made a conscious effort to repeat one of my keywords 3 times in a recent article. I plan to continue this practice as appropriate.Your site has opened my eyes in so many ways (i.e., the “Deprogrammer” title). Thanks for visiting!
I agree. When I would write my articles or post my videos, I didn’t really give anything thought to keyword placement. I would throw the keyword in once, and that would be it. Keyword placement is EVERYTHING!!!!
Masked Man: Yes, as you can see, I’ve just recently learned the importance of keyword placement, thanks to the likes of Vic, Griz, & Court.
By the way, I like your screen name.
Chanya, that is a great article. The “Deprogrammer” analogy is so true. Your a really gifted writer. I get a kick out of Vic’s candor, as you put it. Plus I am learning a lot from Vic and Grizz and Court. These guys are definitely claiming there spot in the blogosphere. Have a great new year. Emma
Emma: It’s amazing how much some of us have learned from them in such a short period of time. I think their use of real world examples is a factor in the effectiveness of their teachings.
Thanks for the kind words and here’s wishing you a great New Year as well.
Chanya ditto Emma’s take on your writing - very gifted and a pleasure to read always!
Vic… well you said it all. A breath of fresh air.
Well done.
Griz
Chanya, that’s a great piece you wrote about Vic especially alluding him to the aura of Lenny Bruce.
Grizz: Thank YOU for being such a great teacher and for willingly sharing your knowledge and experiences.
Markk: I thought it was an apt comparison - I’m glad you enjoyed it. Thanks.
